Dear Sir,
Most of the Seniors on Long Island have had cable for more than 30to 40 yrs.,since they started in 1973 on Long Island.
At that time most of us were in our thirties now forty years later most of us are in our seventies + . Our options to maintain our services that we have been paying for over these past years have gone from $19.00 per month to anywhere from $160. to $200.00 per mo.
I called and inquired about reducing my cable bill and was told I could reduce my services or take advantage of increasing my services for a addition charge ? I said my point was to keep the service I have and to reduce my cost not add to more to it.
I understand that we now have options Verizon, Direct tv, etc.,etc.,but the reduction in cost will only last for several months then escalate just as Cablevision has done.
I think a demand from all Senior users on Long Island and all of NY should take place and force all these providers to offer discounts to long standing Senior customers and should be based on a loyalty basis 10% , 20% ,30% scale against years with provider.

Thank you for all you do for us.

Hi, and thanks for the information on your site. We have just entered the Medicaid thicket, and were shocked at several things that people are unaware of the Look Back Period Grandparents need to be warned about this provision. They are always helping grandchildren with college, med bills, etc. but they do not know that they are creating havoc for surviving children who must deal with the Medicaid ineligibility so created. We are facing six months of ineligibility (a deductible, in essence) because my parents helped a family member with medical bills. Please have an article on your site about this trap for the well meaning elderly! There is talk that the look back will be expanded to ten years! Could you address this on your site?

Thanks!
John MacDonald
